During more than 25 years in publishing, Felix has held positions in sales, editorial, and executive management. Regardless of his position, Felix has always maintained two goals throughout his career: solving educators’ problems and implementing an author's vision.
As Felix states:
For the past three decades, I have looked for projects that illuminate. My career in publishing has been about listening to educators and trying to find solutions to their problems. In all that time, I have tried to support the author‘s vision while maintaining a firm grip on what is practical and what is possible. My goal has been to find those authors who understand the needs of students and who can communicate concepts in a straightforward manner because they are concerned educators who are — first and foremost — teachers. I believe I can spot conscientious authors who help students without feeling the need to impress colleagues; who ignore ineffective ‘bells and whistles‘ that are included only to make the product more marketable; who eschew colorful presentations that are hollow in substance; and who challenge students without obfuscating concepts. After all, the process of higher education shouldn’t be a fraternal initiation ceremony, but should represent the ideals of people who have responded to a higher calling to impart their knowledge to future generations.
